Manchester Marathon

Our adviser and company director, Chris, has taken the leap from his regular 5k runs, and has chosen to compete in the Manchester Marathon in April this year.  He has decided to raise money for a local charity that we have visited first hand, and is asking for donations to the PeterPan Centre for Children with Special Needs . Any penny would be greatly appreciated and all funds raised will go to helping out Children with Special needs at the Newcastle based day centre. The charity fun facility is the only place in Staffordshire that parents can have such much needed respite from looking after their severely disabled children.

Founded in 1969, as a playgroup for children with disabilities, and unique across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire, no other charity does what we do in our region.

All children deserve the best start in life but it can be challenging for those born with disabilities to get the help they need. Research shows that identifying and providing effective early help (the support given to a family when a problem first emerges) is the best way to improve their lives both now and in the long-term.

Through our weekly specialist Education, Care and Development sessions, we support and help our children’s development on a physical, emotional and educational level. From building confidence to socialising, and from taking steps unaided to developing communication skills, each of our children has different needs and abilities and is encouraged at every stage by our caring and dedicated team of experts, who have over 80 years experience of supporting disabled children between them. Our sessions aim to give every child with an additional need the best early support to enable them to continue their journey into education,

Our parent carers benefit from much-needed respite, informal emotional and family support and help with viewing, choosing and securing the best school place for their child.
