We make our fees clear, transparent, and easy to understand, always outlining our charges in your first consultation - with no hidden costs or unexpected surprises.

Transparent and fair
Our fees against your plan value
Below, we've listed our financial advisor cost against your plan value - i.e. the value your pension or investment plan has accumulated. The more investment you've accrued, the lower our percentage fee.
| Your Investment Plan Value | Our fee as a percentage of your plan |
|---|---|
| Of the first £200,000 | 2%* |
| Of the next £201,000 to £500,000 | 1% |
| Of the next £501,000 to £1 million | 0.5% |
| £1 million+ | Bespoke fee |
*Plans below £200,000 will be subject to a bespoke fee calculation.
A percentage-based fee allows us to calculate your fee in the most transparent and fair manner.
We can still work with clients with plans worth below £200,000, but we'll calculate a bespoke fee and advise you on whether our advice will add value.

Value, not just cost
Is our financial advice worth the cost?
Money is money, right? Well, it's not as simple as that.
Could your investment go up or down subject to market fluctuations, or is it completely secure? Is the sum stagnating or growing? Are you prepared to take small risks for larger financial rewards, or do you want to shore-up your savings and ensure their value won't change?
Giliker Flynn is a Chartered, FCA-accredited (1015743) firm. We're here to listen to your priorities and outline what your money could do for you, to ensure your investments fit your priorities and goals.
Our expert Financial Advisors are independent. That makes us best-placed to evaluate all products available, ensuring your investment is as well-placed as possible to grow.*
We have a minimum fee threshold, so we will be honest with you if your smaller pot might not reap the benefits of our financial advice.
*The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you invested.

Financial Advisor Cost FAQs
01How much does a financial adviser cost in the UK?
On average, fees tend to hover between £4,000 - £8,000, based on our typical clients’ plan values, with the typical percentage paid falling between 1% and 2% of the amount they have invested. Financial Advisers charge on either a fixed fee or percentage-based system. Our pensions and investment advice fees typically begin at 2.0% of the first £200,000 of your plan value. It’s then a tiered system, reducing to 1.0% of the next £300,000 of your plan value, then 0.5% of the next £500,000 - our percentage fee reduces the higher plan value you have.
02Do you charge for the first meeting?
If you’re seeking pensions and retirement planning advice, your first consultation with us is complimentary, and no-obligation. For other, more specific service offerings such as inheritance tax planning or a financial health check, we offer a fixed fee of £250 for your consultation and the advice you’ll receive in it.
03How much does pension advice cost specifically?
Giliker Flynn pension advice will typically start at 2% of the value of your pension - that’s £4,000 on a £200,000 pension pot, for example. However the fee percentage begins to reduce for any value over £200,000, resulting in the overall fee percentage falling below 2%. (Pots with values under £200,000 and over £1,000,000 will be charged on a bespoke fee.)
04Do you charge a percentage or a fixed fee?
We charge a percentage fee of the total amount you have invested, so the fee you pay for our advice is dependent on the value of your pension pot. Our advice typically costs a maximum of 2% of your pot’s value.
05Are there any hidden or exit fees?
Your initial consultation on pensions and retirement is completely free, and all of our services are no-obligation. Whilst there may be some terms you choose (like the level of risk you feel comfortable taking), you will always know the risks involved and exactly what fees are applicable before agreeing to proceed.
